The Cancer Research Society has been unrelenting in its pursuit to outsmart cancer. And we believe that research is our best weapon to do so.
Year after year, researchers across the country have been making important strides to better prevent, detect and treat cancer. And we've made it our mission to support them.
The Cancer Research Society was founded in 1945 by four ambitious Montreal women who had all lost a loved one to cancer and wished to do something about it. They wanted to join an existing organization but found none at the time which focused exclusively on research.
And so was born the Cancer Research Society.
The vision of Betty Caplan, Hattie Rolbin, Mildred Singer and Etta Kastner still rings true today, as our sole mission remains to fund research on all types of cancer.
