History

The Cancer Research Society (CRS) is the first Canadian organization whose sole purpose is to fund cancer research. Since its founding in 1945, it has been helping Canadian researchers and physicians to better understand the causes of cancer. The CRS contributes to the development of effective treatments that improve patients' quality of life and helps to protect Canadians' health through cancer prevention.

For six and a half decades, the CRS has continued to fulfill its mission by awarding research grants and fellowships, and funding strategic initiatives across Canada.

The CRS's contribution to scientific advances in the field of cancer research has been made possible by the unwavering support of its countless donors, its partners and its many volunteers for 65 years.
