The Cancer Research Society is one of the many not-for-profit organizations that contribute to the fight against cancer. The Society is distinct from the other organizations through its solid scientific legacy. For more than 70 years now, the Society’s unique focus has been to help Canadian researchers better understand cancer.
Research remains the key in the fight against this terrible disease, which will directly affect more than one in three Canadians in their lifetime. We currently know there are over 200 different types of cancer. Only a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in the development of all forms of cancer, in addition to preventing, controlling and treating these different forms, will enable us to eradicate it. This is why, now more than ever, research is vital.
