The Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the Cancer Research Society in partnership with the Université de Montréal

The Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the Cancer Research Society in partnership with the Université de Montréal has the objective of gathering the maximum amount of scientific evidence to help explain the causes of cancer. The research potential of this project is wide-ranging since it includes many types of cancer and untold numbers of environmental agents to which human beings are exposed during their lifetime.

The Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the Cancer Research Society combines:

  • The expertise and knowledge of a team of researchers headed by prominent researcher Dr Jack Siemiatycki;
  • The experience and know-how of two organizations dedicated to excellence and innovation: the Université de Montréal and the Cancer Research Society;
  • The Guzzo family's generosity and commitment to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Cinémas Guzzo's investment in the Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the CRS represents tangible proof of the Guzzo family's commitment to support the well-being of the community.

"The best and most humane approach to reducing the risks of developing cancer is by far through prevention of the disease. However, it is unfortunately the area of cancer research that is the least developed and funded."
